Vale of York Stages rally, Melbourne

After a day of rain on Saturday, we had some late summer sunshine on Sunday making for perfect rallying conditions around York Raceway near Melbourne.

The course was flat and open, using a mix of tarmac and unmade roads for a bumpy ride that saw one roll among the early starters. Nothing too serious fortunately, just dented panels and dented pride as far as I could tell, and the rest of the morning went without a hitch.

There was a good range of models on display from Micras and 205s, numerous Imprezas (naturally), and no shortage of early Ford Escorts, which was nice to see.

We were even treated to a fly over from a pair of Lancasters en route to Elvington for the Allied Forces Memorial Day.
